ABOUT

Trystan is a force-free trainer based in Prince George, British Columbia.

 

After working as Trainer for several years in Victoria, BC, Trystan formed STARK Dog Training in 2020 as a way to offer her clients a wider variety of services, education, and resources. Her experience ranges from teaching puppies, obedience training, scent detection, trick training, behaviour modification for fearful and reactive dogs, hunting foundations, and much more.

 

Trystan has a passion for fear free handling and has worked in partnership with Elk Lake Veterinary Hospital in Victoria, BC to offer puppy classes with a focus on early socialization and prevention specifically within the veterinary setting.

In 2021 Trystan began working for the BCSPCA primarily focusing on the training and enrichment of the dogs in shelter. Trystan is also a volunteer assistant with the B.C. & Alberta Guide Dog Services.

 

Trystan has a Border Collie X, Aspen, who sparked her interest for dog sports including Agility, Dock Diving, Scent Detection, and Hunting as well as a field Labrador, Sig, who has begun his sports foundations  in Hunting, Rally-O, Scent Detection, and Dock Diving.  

 

Trystan enjoys expanding her knowledge base with courses and lectures through the Fenzi Dog Sports Academy and is certified in DogSafe Canine First Aid. In her free time she enjoys hiking and backpacking with her husband, son, and their dogs.
